Hydrogen Powered Train Launched – Top Speed 160 Kmph

Hydrogen Powered Train: Earlier this year in Aug, Germany launched the first Hydrogen powered trains. Now, on 28th December 2022, China’s first hydrogen-energy urban train independent intellectual property rights, rolled off production lines at the Chengdu CRRC production facility in Xinjin, Chengdu.

China’s First Hydrogen Powered Train

Hydrogen Energy is clean and zero carbon renewable energy and this train, which comprises a built in system of hydrogen power will offer a long range of 600 kms. It has a top speed of 160 km/h. As per estimates, the train running at this speed over a 500 kms route will be able to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 10,000 kgs per year.

Hydrogen-powered trains, also known as “hydrogen rail,” are trains that use hydrogen fuel cells to generate electricity for propulsion. They are considered a form of hybrid electric vehicle, as they can also be powered by electricity from the tracks or from on-board batteries.

Hydrogen fuel cells have the advantage of being able to provide a consistent power source, as they can generate electricity as long as there is a supply of hydrogen, making them a potentially attractive option for use in trains.

Hydrogen powered engines could be the future. This market, which is yet in its nascent stage, is expected to be valued at $34.7 billion by 2030. It is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 10.4% from 2031-2040 to reach $87.3 billion by 2040. This tech has a huge growth potential, thanks to the fact that it has zero tailpipe emissions. There are numerous companies working on hydrogen engine tech, with added investments into R&D, product development and advanced technologies that could lead to outstanding growth in the hydrogen powered energy markets.

Energy is produced by means of a blend of hydrogen and oxygen through a substance response in the hydrogen power module. This energy made is both steady and coming up short on clamor. Later on, this Hydrogen-Energy Metropolitan Train can enjoy numerous different benefits. For instance, it very well may be utilized on non-charged lines, can be applied to other metropolitan vehicles and can likewise bring about saving of framework speculation and cut down support expenses for an extraordinary degree.

It is possible that there will be 50,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on the road by 2025, although it is difficult to make precise predictions about the adoption of new technologies. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, which use hydrogen gas as a fuel to produce electricity, have several benefits over traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, including increased fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

However, they also face some challenges, including the high cost of fuel cell technology and the limited infrastructure for producing and distributing hydrogen fuel.

In recent years, there has been growing interest in hydrogen fuel cell technology, and a number of automakers have announced plans to develop and sell hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Some governments have also implemented policies to promote the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, such as offering financial incentives for their purchase or building hydrogen fueling stations.

These efforts may help to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, although it is difficult to predict exactly how many will be on the road by a specific date.

Indian Railways also plans to introduce Hydrogen powered Vande Bharat Express trains by the end of 2023. Railways and Communication Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the first indigenously designed and built hydrogen train would roll out in December 2023. The design process of these trains exclusively by Indian engineers, will be completed by mid-2023 with the first such train to be rolled out by the end of the year.
